Bristol Karate Academy

We're pleased to confirm that Sensei Steven Connell has formally joined the instructor team at Bristol Karate Academy, having completed all training and referencing in July.

Steven is a home-grown talent, having started Karate in 2004 at Bristol Karate Academy's Backwell dojo. Since that time he's medalled in numerous tournaments both regionally and nationally, with successes including becoming KUGB South West Kata Champion, HDKI Open Kata Champion and a medallist at numerous other events. As part of Bristol Karate Academy's winning kata team he's taken gold on eight separate occasions, including triumphs at the JKS England Nationals, Legend Open, WTKO Irish Open and KUGB Southern Region Championships.

Steven is, of course, no stranger to teaching. He qualified as a KUGB instructor in 2015 and has been assisting at numerous classes ever since, in Nailsea and Backwell. And as the Academy continues to go from strength to strength we're pleased that more of our members will get the benefit of his experience.
