Congratulations to Bristol Karate Academy senseis, Tim Griffiths and Dan Salter, who bring back gold from the British International Open!

Tim Sensei won the Male Veteran Kata event, without dropping a flag across any of the rounds. Having previously won the British title, this was the first time Tim Sensei entered the event and so fantastic to see him taking the title at the first time of asking.

Tim Sensei and Dan Sensei then teamed up to take the Veteran Pairs Kata title, again, without dropping a flag. Their performance of the kata 'Sochin' clinched the win against their Scottish opponents' performance of 'Jion'. Having passed his 4th Dan exam earlier this month, this tops of a memorable August for Dan Sensei.

This year the event took place at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, running over two days due to the size of the competition. The home of the English Karate Federation's national championships and a well known venue for karateka across the country.

Tim Sensei and Dan Sensei were competing as part of the JKS England squad and would like to thank the coaches for all their support, including from Neil Sensei on the day.
