Three golds and four bronze medals came back to Bristol thanks to the efforts of our club members' efforts at the BKF Four Nations Championships in Durham over the weekend of the 27th and 28th April.

Another weekend, another tournament and this time it was our JKS England squad members that were in action, representing our federation. The event was a big one: The British Championships ran continually for two days, over six tatamis, with the event reaching its capacity before the entry deadline. And it was with great pleasure that we saw our members do so well, given the nature of the tournament.

It was through team events that Bristol's medals came. In Senior Team Kata, the JKS England team of Bristol's Tim Griffiths, Harrow's Jason Lam and Walsall's Karanjeet Basran picked up the British title. The Academy's Nephele Metsiou and Somerset's Lucie Tarr came together for their first tournament to take gold in the Girl's Pairs Kata and Academy instructors Tim Griffiths and Dan Salter took gold in Veteran Pairs Kata.

Alongside our medallists, there were many other great performances by our members, showing that everyone's efforts to improve are certainly paying off. Congratulations to all of those that represented their federation so well, thank you to the event organisers and officials for their monumental efforts and thank you to the JKS England coaches for working tirelessly to support everyone over the weekend.
