We’re delighted to confirm that we’ll be hosting JKS HQ instructor, Takuya Makita Sensei on Monday 3rd April, as part of his visit to the South West. This event is open to both members and guests of other clubs and karate associations.
Makita Sensei is a former All-Japan Kata and Kumite Champion, as well as being a former JKS World Champion in Kata and Kumite. After training at the legendary Teikyo University dojo, Makita Sensei graduated the JKS instructors programme and is now a full-time instructor at the JKS honbu (headquarters) dojo in Tokyo.
The Bristol Karate Academy event will be comprised of two seminars, held at Nailsea School (BS48 2HN). An all-grade session followed by a brown and black belt seminar. Brown and black belts are welcome to attend both sessions – just buy a ticket for each session you’d like to join.
We're grateful for this fantastic opportunity provided to us by JKS England, as we welcome a JKS headquarters instructor for the first time. After visiting us in Bristol, Makita Sensei will also be teaching at the dojo of Somerset Ryu Karate on Tuesday 4th April.
